Today I am pissed. While I am a bit late with this news, it's still important to get the word out. Let me preface it by saying that in any case the idea of plagerism hacks me off. But with all the madness going on with the Orphan Works legistlation today, my "button" is much more sensitive. So recently I learned about a case of plagerism that hits close to home. There is a gent, Darren Di Lieto, that runs this great site called the LCS full of incredible illustrators, great news and excellent interviews. It seems that a publishing company 'Great Creativity Organization', in Hong Kong, took it upon themselves to drop a book into the market called "Colorful Illustrations 93°C". Here's the rub though. It seems that they published many artist's work and several interviews that Darren did for his site, all without paying the artists or Darren a penny. It's just NOT right!!! You don't take peoples work/writing/creativity, publish it without giving them a penny, and most importantly, not get their permission first. With that said, I would ask that you consider spreading the word and asking others not to support this publication. Get the full scoop here.

Now for the positive. If you dig great illustration and skilled interview skills be sure to give a visit to the Little Chimp Society.

If you are an artist there is always the arduous task of preparing your art for a showing or sale. Presentation is always key and it's always nice to gain extra-valuable tips on this subject. Creep Machine brings just that with the latest post "How to prepare your art for show and sale". Here's a bit of an excerpt:

"One of the most important things next to creating unique interesting art, is how the art is presented and how you take care of the art when it is shipped to galleries and buyers. Presentation is a factor that is present in everything we partake of, whether it’s buying a new guitar, dining at a restaurant or staying somewhere while on vacation. If your dinner was just thrown down in front of you, and the place was dirty and the people rude, would you feel comfortable about spending your money there? Or if the hotel room clearly hadn’t been cleaned and was run down, or that special guitar you bought was shipped in a cheap box and poorly treated. You would no doubt question your purchase and steer clear of those places in the future."

Read the whole post here and get the scoop on preparing canvas, masonite, wood panels and more.

Stumbled upon this motion graphics piece today. However, I was unable to find anything about the creator. It certainly has this cleanliness to it that draws me into the dark subject. And a tight sountrack as well.

If anyone reading knows who the creator is and where I might find more information, please share. I would love to add a little more about the creative mind behind it. Thanks and enjoy.

Those days sitting at the kitchen table, staring at the box of Captain Crunch or Frosted Flakes, were brought back to mind by artist Rob Sheridan. Only now they've aged and look to feel like I do at times. Swimming around his head for a few years now Rob finally got it out in the form of a large detailed print. This reunion includes Trix Rabbit, Frankenberry, Count Chocula, Cap'n Crunch, and Tony The Tiger. On his blog, Rob also includes some detailed shots of each character. Killer work indeed. And if you can't purchase the print, then be sure to get the wallpaper.

Check it out in all it's glory, right here.
